Affordable and Delicious Gáo Grill and Beer Da Nang

Landing in Da Nang, our first mission was clear: find an unforgettable dinner. Since our niece Jen was our local guide, we let her choose—and she picked Gáo Grill & Beer.

This lively spot, with outdoor seating right in the city center, was buzzing even as closing time approached. The menu was slightly limited since the kitchen was winding down, but Jen, being a regular, knew exactly what to order.

We went for sautéed Kangkong, fried rice, chicken, spareribs, fried fish, and beef. Drinks arrived first, and then the food. The Kangkong was a revelation—fresh, garlicky, and likely cooked in oyster sauce, proving how simple veggies can pack so much flavor. The fried rice was light and perfectly balanced.

The crowd here is mostly locals looking to unwind after work, giving the place a lively, slightly noisy bar vibe. The chicken was a bit dry and bland, and the spareribs were slightly salty, though my cousins loved them. But the star? The fried fish. Filleted and fried to a crisp, it was garnished with thin slices of green mango that added a zesty punch. We ordered two portions and polished them off in no time—everyone kept raving about it.

The price? Around 1,900,000 VND for everything—Vietnam-level affordable for the quality and experience. Between the tasty food, buzzing atmosphere, and friendly service, Gáo Grill & Beer instantly became a favorite. We even made plans to return for our last night in Da Nang.
